Third Grade

January 2012

Happy 2012 and welcome back to a new year. Students down here in third grade have been keeping very busy since returning to break. We are learning our multiplication times tables and students will know up to 12 by the end of January! Each day students are studying their "Monster Time Wheels" to help them learn their facts. In social studies we are finishing up our unit on how to run a business. Students are pretending they are owners of a business and how they would run it. They also are learning how to make a good profit! Each week students are getting to become better and better writers. This month's theme in reading is all about using your imagination, students get practice each week using theirs! January is the month we are learning about writing comparative papers.

We are also starting to prepare for the TerraNova tests coming up in March...

I know that third grade is going to do an awesome job :)
