Fifth Grade
Spring Greetings!
Spring has finally sprung with abundant learning opportunities.
Look
at some of the exciting topics we have in store for May:
Science—We
are currently studying Life Science—The students are experimenting with photosynthesis. We planted some seeds to keep in a light place and some in a dark
place. Now we wait to see what will happen.
Social
Studies—Our knowledge of the beginnings of our country is growing. We have ended our study of the American Revolution
and we see our new country growing. Many
wars were fought over land and rights and we will investigate these pivotal
times.
Math—Fractions,
fractions, fractions. In case you can’t tell we are working on fractions.
April ended with adding fractions with like denominators.
May will begin with adding fractions with unlike denominators. Keep practicing multiplication facts!
Religion—5th graders will begin a study of Family Life and what to expect as we grow physically and spiritually
