 Welcome to May!

This school year is winding down, but May is chock full of activities to make the month fly past quickly.  Information on all that will be in the weekly orange folders.

Just a reminder that the 7th grade G.R.E.A.T. graduation will be Thursday, May 6th at 10 a.m. in the church basement.  A note went home asking for a healthy snack to share for refreshments.

For the Spring Music, our class will be cruising down Route 66.  Mr. Whitaker has not yet let us know about exact costuming, but it won’t be complicated.  I’ll be letting students very soon.

With the 8th graders’ graduation coming up quickly, please watch for notes requesting the 7th grade parents’ help.  It is traditional to help at the Awards Banquet.  That way, help will be expected when your student graduates next year.

Now on to the academics…

In Science we are returning to the human body for our focus of study—the central and peripheral parts of the nervous system.

In Religion, since we have finished with the study of Confirmation, we will return to our regular Religion and soon will start the “Family Life” unit.  The students will be able to take the books home for you to preview the content.

In English, we will move on to the parts of speech that add color to our language – Adjectives and Adverbs.  We will begin with Adjectives and then will learn why Adverbs can be compared to heat-seeking missiles.  Just ask your student.

In Reading, we will examine myths, fates, and fables and how their study can relate to today.

Happy Mother’s Day!!!

God’s blessings to all.
