St. Benedict Preschool

March 2010

Greetings! March is going to be a terrific month!

The Preschoolers will begin the month by celebrating the birthday of the great American author, Dr. Seuss, on March 2.

We will also celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Wednesday March 17; please help your child pick out something green to wear.

The Preschoolers will continue to learn about living things as we meet 3 new Letter People:

Mr. R (Animals on the Farm), Mr. Z (Animals at the Zoo), and Mr. Q (Dinosaurs).

We will continue learning how to create and interpret graphs and will also begin adding nonstandard units in Math.

In addition to working on Lenten activities, both the PK3 and PK4 students will begin learning about the Bible, belonging to a Church family, and continue our yearlong exploration of meaningful prayer in Religion.

The students are looking forward to dramatizing the Our Father!

I hope everyone is finding the Lenten Calendar useful and user-friendly. If you have any questions regarding this activity, please do not hesitate to contact me. Also, please continue practicing name writing, reinforcing alphabet and number recognition, and reading daily to your Preschooler at home. Remember… research has demonstrated that reading aloud to young children is the most important indicator of future academic success.  Let’s work together to “raise some readers”!

One final note…Please come to the St. Benedict Fish Fries and volunteer to help support our school!

(The food is delicious, too!)

Have a great month, and St. Patrick’s Day!
