St. Benedict Preschool
May 2010
Greetings Preschool families! April
was so exciting for the Preschoolers! Room
7 is full of swimming, wiggling, and growing things! Our caterpillars are HUGE and are beginning
to change into Painted Lady butterflies.
Our tadpoles and triops are growing and changing. Our earthworms are hatching and slithering
around in their nursery. Our plants
are beginning to thrive (especially the amazing Dinosaur Plant). We also met new Letter People with super fun
Science-related themes, celebrated Earth Day, and most importantly to the
students… we are once again able to get fresh air and exercise during outdoor
recess! J
May is going to be fun and exciting,
too! We will meet the last 2 Letter
People: Ms. V (Seeds and Plants) and Mr. X (Planets and Stars). We will begin subtracting both nonstandard
units and numerals in Math. We will
study our Earth and many different types of landforms in Science. (A Nature Walk is planned in correlation
with this unit.) We will also finish
our Religion books and turn our collective focus to several Old and New
Testament Bible stories.
The Preschoolers will have lots of opportunities to practice their stage presence this month! We will continue practicing our Spring musical song, “The Land is Your Land”, with Mr. Whitaker and begin practicing for our Preschool graduation and celebration on June 2. More information regarding this memorable event will be sent home during the middle of the month.
Happy
Spring, everyone! Please GET OUTSIDE, and
enjoy the beautiful weather!
