Sixth Grade
May 2010
Wow! It’s difficult to believe that this is the
very last trimester of the school year. We
have covered so much material and more interesting learning lies ahead.
The Ancient worlds of Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, India, Rome, and Greece
have been explored with much enthusiasm.
How and why Christianity began will be the theme of study for Social
Studies Class. After that, we will
begin to study the Ancient world of the Americas.
The Olmec, Toltec, Aztec, Maya, and Inca are groups of Ancient civilizations
that have greatly contributed to the development of the Americas.
Basic chemistry is the current unit of study in Science class. Terms such as substance, mixture, element,
and compound will be instrumental when lab activities are conducted.
We will also begin the FAMILY LIFE PROGRAM, which explains human reproduction
and Catholic morality. The textbooks
were sent home so the parent and child can discuss the content of the program.
“Viva Las Vegas” is the song for the sixth grade portion of the school
spring musical. I hope to see you
there!
