Go Bengals!

Welcome to St. Benedict School!

St. Benedict is a small, diverse, Catholic school in Blue Island. Our school was founded in 1862 and we have a long history of success and high achievement. We BELIEVE in providing an outstanding education founded in Catholic tradition. We ACHIEVE with rigorous academic excellence built on 155 years of experience. We SUCCEED because "Together We Work for the Children We Love." I would love to help you discover why St. Benedict School may be just the right fit for your family.

In addition to our yearly open house, we offer individualized school tours and enjoy visiting with families personally. Your family can see the school, talk to students, and begin discussing a plan that will hopefully follow your child to eighth grade graduation.

If you have any questions, or would like to see for yourself what makes St. Benedict School a high quality place for education and social and emotional growth please call me at 708-385-2016. I look forward to meeting you and your family.

About your Principal

Emily Hanlon earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership in July, 2018.  She researched the impact of physical movement within the classroom, and believes that it is critical to foster healthy minds, bodies, and spirit to help children achieve at their highest potential.  Dr. Hanlon taught in Catholic Schools and is a product of excellent Catholic elementary education herself. As an administrator, Dr. Hanlon believes that the partnership between families and the school/church forges a path to success.  Dr. Hanlon and her husband and two children live in Downers Grove, and she appreciates the opportunity to journey with your family in providing a high quality education for all students.
